Personally, the few times I play it a month, I play for fun because I suck :P. But, yeah, fun is a serious problem in smite at at the mo' because even when they make fun characters, they don't go as far into the theme as they did back in the day. Except with Janus, and even then it's not as focused on the theme as old Zhong or Pos. He's better though.

I play it for fun. I play it serious enough to where I want to win, but all-in-all, I play the game for fun. I have no interest in the competitive side of Smite, nor do I even have an interest in league matches.

As you said, fun is a subjective thing, and I can definitely see why people don't have much fun with the game, but as of right now, I'm still having fun with it, so I still play it.

It's pretty much the only game I play, not very big on gaming tbh, but this one is really fun.
I play it for fun, and even in league I'm playing for fun. I don't see why playing competitively in league can't also be playing for fun, because for me it is.

Wow, out of all the condescending, pretentious ********, you don't even give an argument. Secondly, just because someone can play a certain god better than another doesn't make them balanced, you idiot. By that argument, all gods are balanced due to someone in the world being able to destroy with them. Nu Wa isn't balanced. I can jungle with her, which I'm sure not many people can do, but I'm not stupid enough to believe that she's balanced.

Thirdly, "playstyle and preference is the root of fun?" Are you trying to be the next Arka? He spouted condescending, tangential, pseudo-philosophical ********, too. You're basically saying that playing your preferred god and playstyle is what makes this game fun. And you must be either the world's most condescending sack of douches or genuinely stupid, because anyone who has played more than one game in their life has a preference and knows that playing preferences is more enjoyable than playing someone/something you dislike. That's why it's called preference. See, I can be a patronizing ****bag, too!

Lastly, don't change the subject, you giant nutsack. We've bounced from balance to fun, which are entirely different categories that should never be put in the same discussion. Stop trying to link the two, because Zeus and Kassadin were fun to play, too, before being nerfed.

I found a lot of this a little rude actually...you talk about subjective vs objective but a lot of the argument is just you two...arguing.

Why can't we have a nice discussion on topic ?

Fine I will contribute to the actual topic.

I tried to quite Smite about half a year ago. I got tired of the its imbalance and its players that think that is for noobs that don't know how to manage there skill usage, get they bought Meditation themselves. So I started getting more in to LoL and DOTA, and I started to like and appreciate those games more in the process.

But after about two weeks, when I was on a losing streak in LoL I opened up Smite and played a couple of Arena and Assault matches. I was rusty, my teammates where not the best (but they were nice), but I still had a ton of fun. And that is when I realized something, Smite is the MOBA that I have the most fun with.

Sure LoL and DOTA might be better balanced, have a bigger community, better match making, more items, more champions and all that jazz. But I still find Smite my go to game too play whenever I want to have some fun.

So even though I hate Smite for its unbalanced, because of the fact Hi-rez refuse to fix things that the community has been begging for, the fact that a lot of its players are cancer or that I absolutely hate the Conquest meta. I play Smite too have fun, if I ever feel like I want to play Conquest, ill go and play LoL or DOTA instead.

First thing, you really shouldn't be so rude without reason. In you earlier post you sounded extremely rude while HolyPudding wasn't....
I think skill of the player depends the 'balance' of the god. You know, I first thought and were op as **** and extremely easy to play. But when I played them, I sucked, so even if a god is op doesn't mean that everyone can play him extremely well. If someone plays extremely well, I think he can play just as good as someone with pre-patch .

Just my opinion.

Casuals are for fun and ranked is seriously. Casual conquest sometimes is serious when I'm trying to practice new gods.

Need too agree with this. A game is meant to be fun. If you want it to be serious (as in something depends on it (some players there life XD)) and your playing in the normal conquest like ranked. Well don't think I will be very cooperating with you.
